Teams

The highest level of youth VCBA Baseball is our American Legion team which plays in the North Dakota Class A West Region. Valley City won the 2025 West Region Championship. We anticipate a roster of about 18 athletes. In addition to the league schedule, we will schedule doubleheaders against some 16U teams to offer more playing-time opportunities.

Valley City traditionally has enough players to field two Babe Ruth teams (Kings and Dukes). For 2026, the Kings will compete in ND Class B with the chance to advance to the North Dakota Babe Ruth State Tournament. The Dukes will compete in a Fargo 14/15U league with additional games against area towns. We anticipate initial rosters of 12-14 players per team which will be determined by early-season practice evaluations. Some players may move fluidly between the teams per what state guidelines allow, and based on position need, injuries, performance, attitude and other criteria decided on by the coaches. All players will be evaluated for inclusion on the Kings roster up until state roster deadlines.

The VCBA helps support various competitive youth teams in Valley City through financial contributions. These teams are usually either parent-run or organized by Valley City Parks and Recreation. 

The Valley City Saints is an amateur team for adults in Valley City. The Saints have recently won North Dakota state championships in both 2013 and 2018.
